FAQ

How much does it cost?

Nothing. It's free :)

How can I get there?

Take a look at location.

Do you provide travel reimbursements?

Unfortunately the application period is over. We have received a lot of execellent applications and have exhausted our available resources for reimbursing. We still hope that you can make it and we couldn't be more excited to see you at the event.

I have applied, but cannot attend.

Then please let us know, so that others can take your place!

Where can I sleep?

Everyone needs some sleep, even at hackathons. We are prepared and have a little quite room where people can take a nap. However, we do not provide any sleeping equipment, so please bring a sleeping bag or whatever you need to sleep comfortably.

I have never been to a hackathon, what now?

Try it! People are super friendly, and no, you do not have to be an expert to participate. We have tons of mentors and helpers ready to help you, so please come over!

What is the team size?

2 - 4 people.

Should every member of my team apply individually?

Regardless of whether you have a team or not, everyone who wants to participate at the Open-Codes Hackathon has to go through our application process. We do our best to not split up teams during our approval process.

What should I bring?

All you need is your laptop, charger and motivation.

I arrive on friday and need a place to stay!

Checkout the hostels in Karlsruhe here and here.
We are working on some special deals for our participants that travel from further away. Stay tuned!

Do you have a Code of Conduct?

Yes we do, and it is very important to us! You can find it here:
